Random Prompt...get it while it's hot!

Sadly, we've reached the last of our Random Prompt DT layouts. But we have some wonderful layouts done by two fabulous DT members, Allison and Brittney. Be sure to link up here, if you want to play along!

Allison's "On the Water"

I loved the prompt for this challenge. I stitched along the outlines of the waves to make them stand out more!

Brittney's "Christmas Party"

Once I saw this challenge, I knew it was totally for me - hand stitching is my favorite! This page was completed using a sketch by Jana Eubank.

It's true! If you're really into hand stitching I suggest checking out Brittney's blog. She's done some really awesome things with a needle and thread!

Random Prompt...a wee bit more inspiration

Here are a few more takes on this week's Random Prompt challenge, which is to hand stitch on your layouts. The DT did some amazing work with Cosmo Cricket product, and they aren't even our sponsors (but we'd love to have 'em!). To play along, be sure to link up your layout here.

Jen's "Good Morning Sunshine"

Michelle inspired me to use my cosmo cricket early bird line and now i am addicted!! how perfect if mixes with my sass! Photo is me at cottage in Australia becoming a coffee drinker ... yep I am new to that addiction as well!

Michele's "Being Silly"

I just love this Cosmo Cricket "Early Bird" paper; in fact, this is the second time you've seen this in one of my layouts and don't be surprised if it shows up again!! I believe in getting my money's worth. haha

Thanks for checking back! We can't wait to see what yall have come up with!

Random Prompt Challenge-April 15

Happy Thursday, yall! Jamie here to bring you this week's batch of goodness and the Random prompt!

This week, we're challenging you all to hand stitch on your layouts! Hand stitching is one of my favorite techniques because it can add some great dimension to your pages. So get out your needle and thread (or trusty pen) and have at those pages! And here's a wee bit of inspiration (Monica took that literally this month) to get your mojo flowing.

Monica's "What's in Your Name?"

On this layout about my doggie, Dinky, I stitched around the edges of the clouds to help them stand out better.

Jamie's "Sweet Pea"

I didn't do a lot of stitching on this, just a bit for embellishing. But I think it really adds to the farm vibe of this layout.

Jamie's "Proud Mama"

Don't have a needle and thread? Here's an alternative I like to call "faux stitching". I simply drew in the stitching with my trusty Zig! pen.

We can't wait to see what yall come up with!!

Random Prompts Challenge #1 - February 25, 2010

Good morning! Jamie and Monica, your Random Prompts hostesses, are very excited to bring you the first Random Prompts challenge. Your challenge this week is to use a product not intended for scrapbooking on your layout such as an office supply, a photo from a magazine, recycled cardboard, or even a brown paper bag! You can interpret this as loosely as you'd like! This is what the hostesses came up with:

Monica "True Love"
"For the background, I used a piece of cardboard and ripped off parts of the top to reveal the ridges. Then I used Glimmer Mist in Key Lime & Turquoise to create the heart design. Last, I added green paint to the ridges of the cardboard."

Jamie "Gift Bag Mini Book"

Here are a couple of layouts from the design team:
Shannon "Happiness is a Peeanut"
"This little bag is what my husband's new iPhone case came in (got to love Etsy!) and I immediately thought of my daughter. Her grandparents have called her peanut since she was born."

Allison "Coach Love"
"I used a Coach shopping back for the background and most of the accents, including the ribbon!"

We can't wait to see what your interpretation is for this challenge! Please submit your project by 11:59PM CST on Wednesday, March 3.
